Giving Thanks

With November coming, I think of Thanksgiving and with Thanksgiving comes family and food – two of my favorite things.  Last year I made a paper pie. With input from Quincy and Addison (ages 8 and 10 at the time), we had all varieties of pie slices. Each wedge had an embellishment to add to the theme, like whipped cream, citrus wedges and woven strips of crust all fashioned from paper. There was one slice for each guest and the girls wrote their names on the end of each triangular box in crayon. Every guest wrote out one thing for which they were thankful about each person and we stuffed them into the pie wedges which we read out loud at the end of the meal. Some of the comments were comical and others were touching and at the end, everyone was grinning. I don’t know about anyone else but I still have mine and when I need a little pick me up, I open the box and re-read the notes. I hope these videos inspire you to craft something special this Thanksgiving.
