Woven Photo Card

wovenprojectthumbHoliday photo cards are so popular right now.  I have to admit I love receiving them as well.  It’s such a personal element and really allows me to see how my friends and family have grown and changed over the past year.  However, a simple photo just isn’t me…I must make things move!  You’ll love this woven design that is simply a few cuts and a couple mountain and valley folds.  Everyone on your Christmas card list will be extremely impressed this holiday season!

      hi Julie
yes, it’s a good card to make for any occasion, so make one now while the project is still up then you can adapt it to other seasons, holidays later. Thanks for watching!

  2. love this!!!

  3. Wow, Sandi!!!! How creative and easy! I am very anxious to begin making a few of these for the holidays! You always amaze me!!! Thank you for this great idea!

  4. Really cute and simple

      hi Judy
yes it is simple, i figure you all must be like me in that you have a batch of cards to make so they can’t be too difficult or i would never finish!

  5. This is such a cute project Sandi!! Thanks for showing how to make the jingle bells – need to try it out :)

  6. What a great idea. Only change I would make is taping the jingle bell to the card. Don’t like the look of scotch tape on a card. I would tape to front with a piece of designer paper layered over it. Of course I would layer the bottom edges as well as the other side. Just me….

    • sandi genovese says:

      hi Carolyn
I know what you mean about the tape and i fasten the thread on the outside with a sticker when the hole/window is flat, but this one has the mountain fold in the middle and when i tried to fasten the thread to the front i wasn’t able to put it in the middle…i would love to see what you come up with and thanks so much for sharing your ideas

  7. Thank you so much for your idea’s. I miss you and Carol so much on T.V. HGTV has just been terrible lately. There just isn’t enough craft shows. Those were good days. Again thanks for this site.

my brother is coming out from Denver for Thanksgiving so i am really looking forward to it…thanks for watching!

  10. I’m always looking for great card ideas and I always love yours. I’m patteren paper challenged, so I love how you make yours. Now I know the papers will work. I made the “front door” card last year and received many compliments. A smaller version of this card would be a 5 1/2 x 12, scored at 2, 4, 8, and 10 horizontally and 1 1/2 in from each edge vertically. There is a trade off — the center square, is now a 2 1/2 x 4 rectangle. A landscape wallet-size picture would work, but this may loose the effect for some. A plus may be it will fit into an invitation size envelope as the finished size is 4 x 5 1/2. GREAT CARD!!!! Thank you.

      hi Pam
Thanks so much for giving all of the measurements for those who might like to try a smaller size…what a super idea!

  11. Sandi, I love this card. I’m making one with a picture of my son when he was 2 yrs. old, with Santa. His son, who is 17 mos. old, looks just like his dad in the picture I’m using. Thank you for clarifying how much adhesive to use on cards, etc.
    Love your showgrams. Happy Holidays!!

  12. Hi Sandi
